This morning I walked around the Dane County Farmer’s Market. I was looking for some early spring salad greens and, perhaps, a hydroponic/greenhouse tomato or two. While I didn’t find much in the way of early spring vegetables, I saw a table for the Madison Area Peace Coalition set up at the base of a statue. The statue was of Civil War leader Colonel Hans C. Heg.
Apparently the irony of a group devoted to peace setting up shop in the shadow of a statue dedicated to a war hero completely escaped the members of the Peace Coalition.
