The Vikings won today against Buffalo, while St. Louis lost to Kansas City, which left the Vikes as the only undefeated team in the league. Randy Moss' 39-yard touchdown grab was a reasonably amazing play, but Cris Carter had his fair share of nice plays, as well.

Friday night and Saturday night, one of our neighbor's dogs has kept me awake for most of the night. It appears that the owners of the problem dogs went away for the weekend and left their dogs running free in the backyard. This would be fine if the dogs didn't wake me up at 1:30 AM, 5:30 AM, 3:00 AM, etc. The people who live above us have been similarly annoyed by the dogs. We tried calling the police, but they just come over, rap on the owner's door for ten minutes or so, and then tell us that we're getting closer with every police report to getting the dogs taken away by the animal control officer. All this monkeying around makes me yearn for the South Dakota method of barking animal control: the offending animal might find itself wandering into the path of a stray .22 caliber bullet. We went to see Pay It Forward last night. Schmaltzy, but OK.

Yesterday, I rode around the periphery of Alameda for a total of 22.06 miles. However, I rode with shoes that were too soft in the sole, so I had ten reasonably numb toes when I got back to the house. I wanted to extend the ride even further by riding out to Oakland Airport, but my feet just wouldn't take it. I might have to invest in a set of clipless pedals and cycling shoes if I'm going to try and increase my daily and/or weekly mileage.
