It's been raining here most of yesterday and today. I'm not complaining too much, though, as this is some of the last rain we'll see until September or October.

Last night we went to see the movie Gladiator at the Grand Lake theater in Oakland. The movie was supposed to start at 9:45 PM PDT. We'd gotten tickets earlier in the day, so all we had to do was show up reasonably early to get good seats. We arrived at the theater about9:18 PM PDT. The line was already about one hundred people long at that point. By the time the theater staff started letting people into the movie, the line must have been several hundred people long. It was quite a scene. The movie itself was amazing. There were some anachronisms in the movie, however, most of them were made with the idea of a better cinematic experience rather than a truly historical movie experience.
